We have very kindly been invited by the Poole Harbour Commissioner to work with them to make Poole Harbour Boat Show a plastic-free boat show. We are thrilled to have been given such an incredible opportunity to really get the message out there in such a big way. Our plans are still in the very early stages but this is going to be a big one!
We have been cleaning Lytchett Bay for several months, and with help from some enthusiastic volunteers we are now looking at ways to keep the bay clean and the wildlife safe from rubbish. This includes a project with the local fishermen to reduce the impact their equipment has on the area.
We’re pleased as punch to announce that the Big Harbour Clean-up website is now live. There’s lots of information online about the event which takes place on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th May. There’s also a sign up form on the Get Involved page for participants (rubbish collectors, organisers and supporters) to get in touch and send in their details.
Litter Free Coast and Sea’s ‘Refill Dorset’ scheme offers the public free tap water refills at designated points. Refill is a practical tap water campaign that aims to make refilling your bottle as easy, convenient and cheap as possible by introducing refill points on every street.
